Joe Carey From March 30th to April 2nd I am trekking in the Himalayas to support the Atlas Foundation's work with kids from the city slums and rural villages of India.
Along with ten others, including former Rugby Internationals and Rugby World Cup winners, I will be visiting a project in the north of Bengal, to open an education centre funded by the Atlas Foundation. We will meet the kids and the project workers, and we will share a night with them in the village sleeping on floors, and catching our own fish in the river for dinner.
Then we trek up to 3,500m - around the height of the glaciers in the Alps - staying in a Trekkers hut for the night. We wake up to see sunrise over Everest before trekking down, and a final short bounce through Delhi where Atlas has other projects with street kids. Joe Carey
